Beetles from the Clark Collection

This drawer is part of a collection of butterflies and beetles collected on Portsdown Hill over a period of 20 years by D J Clark who lived in Southsea.

Between 1947 and 1971, D J Clark worked at the Natural History Museum as an Experimental Officer specialising in Diptera (flies) and Arachnida (Spiders).

All of the insects in the collection have labels saying where and when they were collected, making them a good biological record of Portsdown Hill.
